At first, it might seem like a touring comedy troupe in Sicily are living a life as lighthearted as their performances, but it quickly becomes apparent that they’re trapped in a real-life tragedy. With love triangles, secret romances, and one of the most iconic (and devastatingly emotional) arias of all time, Pagliacci encapsulates the height of drama.
In this tragic opera, the intense jealousy between troupe leader Canio and his wife, Nedda, spotlights the fragile interplay of love, power, and trust—juxtaposing fanciful comedy shows with the deadly consequences of the real world.
Rating: Rated PG-13 for mature themes and instances of violence.
Run Time: (TBC)
Sung in Italian with English supertitles
