Live at the Eccles presents Ludovico Einaudi on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at the Eccles Theater on Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City. ArtTix is the official source for tickets for Live at the Eccles events.
Ludovico Einaudi, born in Turin on November 23, 1955, is a distinguished pianist and composer whose musical journey began with early exposure to music through his mother, an amateur pianist. He studied at the Conservatories of Turin and Milan, under the guidance of Azio Corghi and Luciano Berio, and further honed his craft with Karlheinz Stockhausen. His career took off in the 1980s, with notable works for ballet, theater, and cinema. In 1996, his solo album Le Onde, inspired by Virginia Woolf’s novel, captured the attention of the classical music world, and his subsequent works, such as Eden Roc (1999) and I Giorni (2001), continued to gain acclaim. Einaudi’s soundtracks for films such as Doctor Zhivago (2002) and The Untouchables (2011) solidified his reputation, while his performances in iconic venues like La Scala and the Royal Albert Hall marked milestones in his artistic career. Albums like Divenire (2006) and Nightbook (2009) saw him expanding his music into new realms, including collaborations with other musicians and orchestras.
Einaudi’s innovative spirit has continued into the 21st century with projects such as Elements (2015) and the ambitious Seven Days Walking (2019), a series of seven albums exploring the themes of nature and creative process. His work during the pandemic, including Underwater (2022), demonstrated a more introspective approach to his music. Einaudi’s music has been featured in award-winning films like Nomadland (2021) and The Father (2021), and he has released several compilation albums, including Cinema (2021). His live performances have embraced unique settings, such as concerts in national parks, and in 2022, he received the Opus Klassik award for Underwater. Einaudi’s influence spans both classical and popular music, as evidenced by his ability to sell out prestigious venues worldwide, and his next album, The Summer Portraits, is set to be released on January 31, 2025.
