Overview
Your Eccles Theater experience starts the minute you enter from busy Main Street into the spectacular five-story glass lobby. The distinctive chandeliers, colorful balustrades, and striking terrazzo floor remind you that you are in for a memorable experience. In addition to your performance, enjoy the outdoor terrace that spans the length of the building and provides excellent views of the city and the Oquirrh Mountains, or enjoy selections from the Salt Lake County Visual Art collection.
The George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Theater is a performance destination for Salt Lake, Utah, and the Intermountain West. The 2,500-seat Delta Performance Hall hosts the Zions Bank Broadway at the Eccles series and the Live! at the Eccles popular events series. The Regent Street Black Box hosts local performances from dance and theater to film and concerts.
The Eccles Theater inspired the renovation and revitalization of Regent Street, just east of the venue. Regent Street is now a lively urban thoroughfare and is host to new local restaurants and retail establishments.
Eccles Theater Arts Partners
We are pleased to work with two national presenting organizations to bring the best in touring entertainment to the Eccles Theater. For more than 25 years, Broadway Across America (BAA) and its predecessors have brought the best of touring Broadway shows to Utah. BAA is the foremost presenter of first-class touring productions in North America, operating in 44 markets with over 400,000 subscribers.
Salt Lake-based Magic Space Entertainment, in partnership with First Tracks Entertainment and Salt Lake County Arts & Culture, presents the Live! at the Eccles series. Live! is a series of music, comedy, lively arts, and engaging talks at the Eccles Theater.
Interpreting Utah’s Landscape Inside Delta Performance Hall
Walking into the Delta Performance Hall, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve stepped into a southern Utah canyon. The Eccles Theater architects at Pelli Clarke Pelli were so inspired by the southern Utah landscape, they decided to bring it into the Theater.
The walls, seats, and floors are awash in the colors and striated patterns of the canyons and the signature star-field ceiling is reminiscent of a big, clear, star-filled night sky. One happy and unexpected result of the star-field ceiling is seeing how some acts integrate it into their performances.

Cameron Mackintosh
presents a revitalized new production of
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s
legendary musical,
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, which was rapturously received by London critics when it reopened in 2021. Featuring
Maria Björnson’s
brilliant original design and based on the celebrated direction of
Harold Prince, with musical staging and choreography by
Gillian Lynne,
PHANTOM
will launch a new multi-year North American tour in November 2025, premiering at a city near you.
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
is widely considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular productions in history, playing to over 160 million people in 47 territories and 195 cities in 21 languages. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s romantic, haunting, and soaring score includes “The Music of the Night,” “All I Ask of You,” “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again,” “Masquerade,” and the iconic title song. It tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as ‘The Phantom’ who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerized by the talents and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, The Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine’s love for Raoul, The Phantom’s obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy, madness, and passions collide.
